Career Stats – 603 carries, 3138 yards, 5.2 yard average, 26 touchdowns – 73 receptions, 681 yards, 4 touchdowns |
Strengths – Quick, has burst, and has impressive straight-line speed – North and south runner who can run between the tackles, but also make plays in space – Sturdy, compact frame – Quality, reliable hands |
Areas for Growth – Not a great pass protector – Vision is sometimes questionable, as there is some hesitation in decisiveness – Did not break many tackles – Runs somewhat upright |
Best-Case Scenario – Can develop into a #2 RB, or a 3rd down back able to capitalize on his burst and speed |
Likely Reality – Gets a shot with an NFL team as a possible #3, 3rd down runner |
Projected Round – 7th round, priority undrafted free agent |
Potential to Land with Steelers – The Steelers need a complementary runner to Najee Harris, and Chandler could possibly be that. Productive at both Tennessee and North Carolina, some argue Chandler can be a 3-down back, but he is better suited for spot-duty in the NFL. His burst, stocky frame, and straight-line speed make him an interesting prospect to consider as lightning to Harris’s thunder. Could potentially pull Chandler as an undrafted rookie free agent. |
